COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — Brendan Wenzel had a career-high 25 points, Mason Walters scored a career-best 22 and Wyoming defeated Air Force 83-72 on Tuesday night.
Wenzel shot 6 for 8 from beyond the arc and 7 of 8 from the free throw line for the Cowboys (12-9, 5-3 Mountain West Conference). Walters made 8 of 12 shots from the floor and 6 of 7 from the free-throw line, adding seven rebounds. Akuel Kot made four 3-pointers and scored 20.
Sophomore Kellan Boylan scored a career-high 32 to lead the Falcons (8-12, 1-7). Boylan made 11 of 16 shots with a career-best nine 3-pointers — in 14 attempts. Boylan’s previous high was 15 points, done twice this season. Rytis Petraitis added 11 points, five assists and two steals. Ethan Taylor pitched in with 11 points, four assists and two steals.
Wenzel scored 16 points in the second half for the Cowboys, who trailed 36-34 at the break.
