Wyoming Truth Wins a Dozen Journalism Awards

Statewide news outlet garners honors from the Society of Professional Journalists

DENVER—The Wyoming Truth won a dozen journalism awards from the Society of Professional Journalists, one of the industry’s standard bearers, in a competition that includes print, online and broadcast news outlets in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming.

The Wyoming Truth was recognized for virtually every aspect of its news operation covering the state of Wyoming, including long form features, business features, editorial cartoons, beat reporting, business news, front page design, feature photography, news columns, political features, education features, political news and education news.

The Wyoming Truth, which was founded in late 2021, has earned over 30 journalism awards in less than three years of publishing.

The Wyoming Truth, which competed in the “Top of the Rockies” small newsroom division, was recognized at an awards ceremony in Denver hosted by the SPJ Colorado Pro chapter. Over 80 news media outlets and 30 freelancers entered the contest with over 1,900 entries. The contest was judged by the Los Angeles Press Club.
